Conectar QuickBooks
Video Walkthrough
Watch the video below for a complete step-by-step walkthrough of connecting QuickBooks Online to CSM. The written instructions follow if you prefer to go at your own pace.
Before You Start
You will need the following before connecting QuickBooks:
- An active QuickBooks Online subscription — Simple Start, Essentials, Plus, or Advanced (QuickBooks Desktop is not supported)
- A CSM account on the Pro plan — accounting integration is a Pro feature
- Admin access to your CSM account (Owner or Admin role)
Step 1 — Get Your Redirect URL from CSM
Before going to Intuit, grab the redirect URL CSM needs you to register. You will paste this into the QuickBooks app in the next step.
- Open Account Settings Log in to CSM and click your shop name in the top navigation, then choose Account Settings.
- Go to Integrations → QuickBooks Find the Integrations section and click on QuickBooks.
- Copy the Redirect URL CSM shows a redirect URL built from your live domain. Click the copy icon next to it and keep it in your clipboard — you need it in Step 2.
Step 2 — Create an Intuit Developer App
Log in to the Intuit developer portal and create a new app. Intuit uses this app to issue credentials that CSM uses to connect to your QuickBooks company on your behalf.
Open the Intuit developer portal: https://developer.intuit.com/app/developer/qbo/docs/get-started
- Sign in or create a free developer account Click Sign In at the top-right. You can use an existing Intuit account (the same one you use for QuickBooks) or create a separate free developer account.
- Go to the Dashboard After signing in, click Dashboard in the top navigation. You will see a list of any existing apps (likely empty).
- Click "Create an app"
- Select "QuickBooks Online and Payments" CSM uses the QuickBooks Online API. Do not select the Payments-only option.
- Name your app Enter any name — e.g. "Complete Shop Manager". Accept the terms and click Create app.
- Add your redirect URI In the app settings, find Development → Keys & credentials. Scroll to the Redirect URIs section and click Add URI. Paste the URL you copied from CSM. Click Save.
- Also add the redirect URI for Production Switch from the Development tab to the Production tab and add the same redirect URI there. This is required for the live connection to work.
- Copy your Production Client ID and Client Secret On the Production tab under Keys & credentials, you will see the Client ID and a button to reveal the Client Secret. Copy both.
Step 3 — Connect QuickBooks in CSM
Go back to the CSM QuickBooks settings panel you opened in Step 1.
- Enter your Client ID Paste the Production Client ID from the Intuit app.
- Enter your Client Secret Paste the Production Client Secret.
- Click "Connect to QuickBooks" CSM redirects you to Intuit for authorization.
- Sign in to QuickBooks and authorize Intuit asks which QuickBooks company to connect. Select your business company and click Connect.
- Confirm the connection CSM redirects you back to the settings page. You should see your QuickBooks company name displayed — that confirms the connection is live.
Step 4 — Set QuickBooks as the Active Provider
Connecting QuickBooks does not automatically start syncing jobs. You also need to set it as the active provider.
- Find the "Active provider for sync" setting It is on the same Integrations page, below the Xero and QuickBooks panels.
- Select QuickBooks and save.
Troubleshooting
"Invalid redirect_uri" error from Intuit
The redirect URI in your Intuit app must exactly match the URL shown in CSM. Check that you added it to the Production tab (not only Development), and that there is no trailing slash or extra space.
Company name does not appear after authorizing
Reload the Integrations page. If it still shows as disconnected, confirm you used the Production Client ID and Secret (not Development). Click Disconnect, re-enter the credentials, and try again.
"App not approved" or "App pending review"
Intuit sometimes puts new apps through a brief review before they can connect to non-sandbox companies. If you see this message, check your developer dashboard email for a message from Intuit. Most apps are approved automatically within 24 hours of first connection attempt.
Token expired — CSM says "reconnect required"
QuickBooks OAuth tokens expire after 100 days of inactivity. If you have not pushed any invoices in a while, CSM will prompt you to reconnect. Click Reconnect on the Integrations page and authorize again — your Client ID and Secret stay saved, so it only takes a few seconds.
