Your Account
Owner vs. Team Logins
The account you created when you registered is the owner account. It always has full access to everything in the app — no restrictions, no role required. There is one owner account per shop.
Everyone else on your team — service advisors, technicians, managers — gets their own team login. Team logins see the same shop data as you but are restricted to what their assigned role allows. You manage team logins from Account Settings → Team Logins. This feature is available on the Pro plan.
Account Settings
Go to Account Settings to manage your personal login identity — your name, email address, and password.
Updating Your Name or Email
As the shop owner, you can edit your first name, middle name, last name, and the email address you use to log in. To save these changes, you must enter your current password — this protects you in case someone else has access to your screen. After changing your email, use the new address the next time you log in.
Changing Your Password
Enter your current password, then type and confirm a new one. Passwords must be at least eight characters. CSM never stores your password in a readable form — only a secure, encrypted version is kept, so no one (including CSM staff) can look it up.
Shop Settings
Shop Settings is separate from your personal Account Settings. Everything here is about your shop’s identity and operational defaults — not your individual login.
Business Name
Your business name is separate from your personal name on the account. It appears in the sidebar and on customer-facing pages. If you leave it blank, the app falls back to your registered name until you set one.
Contact Info
Your mailing address, shop phone number, shop email, and website URL are shown on invoices, estimates, and the customer payment kiosk. Use a general shop email (like info@yourshop.com) rather than your personal address so customers always reach the right inbox.
Account Tier
Your current plan (Standard or Pro) is shown here. Upgrading to Pro unlocks online payment collection, team logins, and other features. Only the shop owner can change the plan — team logins cannot access billing settings.
Transferring Shop Ownership
To hand the shop to a new owner, no special process is needed — the new owner simply takes over the existing owner account. They update the name and email in Account Settings (current password required), set a new password, and update Shop Settings with the new business info. All shop data, repair history, and team logins carry over untouched.
Deactivating Your Account
If you need to pause your shop, you can deactivate the account from Shop Settings → Account Tier. This locks out all logins — yours and your team’s — but does not delete any data. You can reactivate at any time. If you were on a Pro plan, reactivation is free for the remainder of the billing period you already paid for.
