Technician App
The tech’s workbench — built for the shop floor
The CSM Technician App gives every tech their own mobile workspace. Clock in and out on individual labor lines, track job progress, update concerns and tech notes, run inspections, and scan VINs — all from the phone, without ever touching the desktop. The app shows only the jobs assigned to that technician so there’s no noise from other work.

Time clock on every labor line
Expand any labor line assigned to the tech and tap Clock In. The app tracks time against that specific line and shows a live elapsed timer at the top of the RO. When the work is done, tap Clock Out — time is recorded and ready for payroll and billing review. Only one clock-in is allowed at a time; the app prevents conflicting entries.
VIN scanner
The Scan tab opens the camera for a live barcode scan. Point it at the VIN sticker on the dashboard or door jamb. Once CSM identifies the vehicle, the tech sees their assigned open ROs for that vehicle and taps straight into the job. If the vehicle is not on file, the tech is directed to ask the service advisor to add it.
Installing the Technician App
Android (Chrome): Open the tech login URL in Chrome and add it to the home screen from the three-dot menu → Add to Home Screen.
iPhone / iPad (Safari): Open the tech login URL in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. The app opens full-screen from the home screen icon after that.
